Safety Information – XPRESS Hb Meter

The XPRESS Hb meter is intended for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use only by trained healthcare professionals or properly instructed users. Always use the meter strictly according to the instructions provided in the user manual. Use only approved XPRESS Hb test strips and accessories, as the use of non-recommended consumables may lead to inaccurate results or device malfunction.

Handle all blood samples as potentially infectious and follow standard biosafety and universal precautions. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves while collecting and testing samples. Dispose of used test strips, lancets, and other consumables in accordance with local biomedical waste disposal regulations.

Do not use the meter if it is visibly damaged, exposed to excessive moisture, or operated outside the specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid dropping the device or exposing it to strong electromagnetic fields. Clean the meter only with recommended cleaning agents and never immerse it in liquid.

Store the meter and test strips under specified storage conditions. Keep the device out of reach of children. In case of abnormal readings, error messages, or suspected malfunction, discontinue use and contact authorized service or customer support.

Direction for Use

Directions for Use – XPRESS Hb Meter
1. Preparation: Ensure the XPRESS Hb meter, test strips, and accessories are at room temperature. Switch on the meter and insert a new XPRESS Hb test strip as per the instructions. Confirm that the meter is ready for testing.
2. Sample Collection: Collect 10 µL of capillary or venous whole blood using standard aseptic techniques. Follow universal precautions while handling blood samples.
3. Applying the Sample: Apply the collected blood sample to the designated area on the test strip immediately after collection. Ensure the sample is applied correctly to avoid inaccurate results.
4. Testing: Once the sample is applied, the meter will automatically start the measurement process. Keep the meter on a stable surface during testing.
5. Result Display: The hemoglobin result (and hematocrit value, if applicable) will be displayed on the screen in less than 10 seconds.
6. After Test: Remove and safely dispose of the used test strip and other consumables according to biomedical waste guidelines. The test result will be stored automatically in the meter’s memory.
7. Power Off & Storage: The meter will switch off automatically after inactivity. Store the meter and unused test strips under recommended storage conditions.
