Our company name is composed of two words, ACCU and REX. ‘ACCU’ refers to the word ‘accurate’. Its definition as described by Oxford dictionary portrays the essence of our existence. ‘REX’, a Latin word for ‘king’, speaks of our authoritative influence in the diagnostic industry.

Guided by clear vision and driven by innovation; Accurex has gained considerable expertise in manufacturing and marketing of In-vitro Diagnostic reagents. It has built a reputation of quality products, a strong financial base and dynamic marketing.

Our Headquarter and Marketing Office is located in Mumbai, the commercial capital of India.

Founding of Accurex

Urine Strip Launch

Accurex was the first company to manufacture urine strips in India

Enzymatic Reagents

Accurex was the first to launch Enzymatic reagents in India

2006

Launch of Instruments

Accurex launched its first instrument - AT 112. A biochemistry semi-automated instrument.

Accurex launched “SPHERA” from Italy

Accurex launched its first instrument Sphera M, a fully-automated clinical
chemistry analyzer.

Accurex was the first Indian company to launch a POC division with over 22 products in the portfolio.

About Founder

Mr Anil Thakur a name known in the diagnostic industry was the founder & ex-managing director of Accurex Biomedical. Mr Thakur was eminently qualified and had rich experience in the diagnostic industry for more than 30 years. After graduating from Mumbai university he began his professional career in 1976 with Bayer diagnostics India ltd. (Formerly known as miles India ltd.). His association with Bayer lasted till 1985 during which he held various important positions in the organization.

In the year 1984, Mr. Thakur founded Accurex biomedical. Accurex with core competency in clinical biochemistry was the first company in India to manufacture enzymatic reagent kits. All manufacturing processes from basic raw material to finished product were in-house.

Mr. Thakur was an excellent visionary. Under his leadership, Accurex had launched various innovative products and marketed them with innovative strategies. Mr. Thakur established Accurex as a customer-oriented organization. He launched the 24 x 7 module for all Accurex customers to log on their complaints/queries 24 hours a day; 7 days a week – the first of its kind in India.

He took Accurex to international platforms through Medica, APCCB and various other international exhibitions and conferences.

Mr. Thakur’s contribution towards Accurex for the last 20 years was enormous. Unfortunately Mr. Thakur passed away on 25 January, 2004. However Accurex will continue to be guided by his ideals and vision. In the near future, Accurex will achieve a leadership position in the Asia-pacific region which was his dream…
