Direction for Use
Directions for Use – XPRESS Hb Meter
1. Preparation: Ensure the XPRESS Hb meter, test strips, and accessories are at room temperature. Switch on the meter and insert a new XPRESS Hb test strip as per the instructions. Confirm that the meter is ready for testing.
2. Sample Collection: Collect 10 µL of capillary or venous whole blood using standard aseptic techniques. Follow universal precautions while handling blood samples.
3. Applying the Sample: Apply the collected blood sample to the designated area on the test strip immediately after collection. Ensure the sample is applied correctly to avoid inaccurate results.
4. Testing: Once the sample is applied, the meter will automatically start the measurement process. Keep the meter on a stable surface during testing.
5. Result Display: The hemoglobin result (and hematocrit value, if applicable) will be displayed on the screen in less than 10 seconds.
6. After Test: Remove and safely dispose of the used test strip and other consumables according to biomedical waste guidelines. The test result will be stored automatically in the meter’s memory.
7. Power Off & Storage: The meter will switch off automatically after inactivity. Store the meter and unused test strips under recommended storage conditions.
